Later on they say "osugimasu" which I was taught means "too much", but I googled the word and only got two results. This makes me think the word isn't used or I'm

Flip Your Classroom: Reach Every Student in Every Class Every Day
It started with a simple observation: students need their teachers present to answer questions or to provide help if they get stuck on an assignment; they don't need their teachers present to listen to a lecture or review content. From there, Jonathan Bergmann and Aaron Sams began the flipped classroom-students watched recorded lectures for homework and completed their assignments, labs, and tests in class with their teacher

American on Japanese TV; Foreigner in Yamagata / 山形弁でしゃべるアメリカ人
A Japanese TV crew (YBC) followed me around and filmed me one day in 2004 at the school I worked at (Aterazawa High School) and at my apartment for their daily news broadcast; the people of Yamagata (northern Japan; about 3 hours north of Tokyo on the Bullet Train) were constantly amazed at the "Gaijin" (foreigner) speaking "Yamagata-ben" (Yamagata Dialect).
