Question by atadub23: Can I learn to speak Japanese fluently without being able to read it?
Is it possible to learn to speak Japanese fluently and read/write romaji(romanji?) without learning hiragana and katakana? Or at least to learn that first and learn the characters later? As kids, we learn to speak the language well before we write it, so is it possible?
